UVC chamber | Germicidal LEDs for the agri-food industry
UV-C irradiation is a safe and ecological technique to preserve meats and horticultural products such as juices, fruits and vegetables. Control of storage rot with UVC (λ = 200-280 nm) is attributed not only to its direct germicidal effect, but also to its ability to induce defense responses in host tissue.
In most cases, the postharvest quality of the irradiated horticultural products improves due to the decay of the concentration of pathogenic fungi such as Botrytis cinerea, Rhizopus stolonifer, Penicillium.
UVC chamber for production lines
The UVC chamber presents a wide range of possibilities for the agri-food market. In particular, it offers two applicable effects in the production chain: disinfection and degradation.
Disinfection
The UVC chamber has a disinfecting effect on vegetables
We refer to the bacterial film that all fruits and vegetables have, which are the microorganisms responsible for putrefaction, so with the UVC chamber we can eliminate the surface film and thus extend the shelf life of the fruit, vegetables or meat at any point of the production chain.
Degradation
UVC light produces a degradation effect on certain substances of plants
The secondary metabolites are responsible for the smell, color, flavor, nutrients and medical properties of plants. With our UVC chamber we can degrade secondary metabolites and turn them into others or even eliminate them altogether due to a process called photolysis.

Phobos, besides combining all the features of Janus, has the following additions:

- Improves the organoleptic properties (smell, taste, color and nutrients)
- Increase of secondary metabolites and alteration of the terpene profile
- Prevents pests and strengthens the immune system
- Lower water consumption thanks to its UVC LEDs
iGROW Janus
Janus is the base product of the new generation of iGROW LED luminaires, it is convertible into a Phobos or Deimos.
- Energy efficiency: electricity consumption of only 120Wh
- 300W radiated power in pulsating mode (CPM)
- Possibility of adding quartz glass and UVC LEDs
- Wireless control through our App for iOS and Android

Eradicates harmful microorganisms common to indoor crops. It combines all the functions of Janus, and in addition:
- UVC LEDs at 265 nanometers producing a germicidal effect
- Combat and prevent the usual pests, bacteria and fungi in indoor crops
- Improvement of the immune system by controlled stress
- Increases chlorophyll production of plants
- Lower water consumption
iGROW Janus
